Dear Families and Parishioners,
The heart of our Faith Formation Program is beautifully expressed in the pastoral message: “Follow the Way of Love.” This guiding principle reminds us that the family is the cornerstone of faith and community. Parents play a vital role in cultivating a God‑centered home—a sacred space where children learn to live their faith with authenticity and joy.
In this nurturing environment, faith becomes more than a Sunday ritual—it becomes a way of life. Children are encouraged to integrate their beliefs into everyday moments, whether at home, in school, or in church. This seamless expression of faith forms the foundation of a vibrant spiritual life.
Our mission extends beyond the home to the wider parish community. Dedicated parishioners generously offer their time and talents to support the spiritual growth of our youth. Together—parents, catechists, and parish members—we form a strong network of love and guidance, united in the teachings of Jesus and the core values of our Catholic faith. Sacramental Preparation
At St. Jude, children typically prepare for and receive First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion in 1st and 2nd grade. These sacraments mark a beautiful and important moment in a child’s faith life, opening their hearts to God’s mercy and to the gift of Jesus in the Eucharist.
Equally important are the years that follow. The time between First Communion and Confirmation—Grades 3 through 6—are essential foundation years. During this period, children continue to grow in their understanding of Scripture, prayer, the Mass, and the teachings of the Church. These years help them develop the spiritual maturity, habits of faith, and sense of belonging that prepare them to enter the Confirmation process with confidence and purpose.
Just as a strong foundation supports a sturdy home, these formative years support a young person’s readiness to embrace their faith more fully as they approach the Sacrament of Confirmation.Important Program Update
We are happy to announce that beginning with the 2026–2027 program year, our parish will transition to celebrating Confirmation in 8th grade. This change allows our young people to deepen their understanding of the faith and prepare more fully for this important sacrament during a meaningful stage of their spiritual and personal development.
We look forward to welcoming your children into another year of growing in faith, friendship, and discipleship. May this new year of Faith Formation be a time of grace for all our families as we continue to “Follow the Way of Love” and walk together in the light of Christ.Important Dates (TBD)
